Updates and Events

Dear Families,
Today we had to say good bye to our UVM intern, Autumn Albrecht.  She was a fabulous addition to our classroom and will be greatly missed.  The students gave her a handmade desk calendar and cards.  She chose two books to donate to our classroom.  Also, each student received a special note and a hand selected pencil.  There was an assembly this morning to recognize all of the interns in our building.  They were each given a certificate of appreciation and a Summit Street School shirt. Below are some pictures of Miss Albrecht's last day.  She will be starting full-time student teaching in a fourth grade classroom in Colchester after the first of the year.  We wish her well!  We will also be having a full-time student teacher from UVM starting in January.  Her name is Mariah Gentley.  She has been visiting our classroom and will visit again tomorrow. We look forward to having her join!

Learning Challenge for Vacation

Dear Families,
The students received a Fall Break Learning Challenge in their home reading folder.  You will also notice they have more books than usual.  Please help the students keep their skills strong over break by participating in this activity. There are also some fun math ideas. For each activity that your child completes, please have them color in that leaf.  On Monday, November 26th, your child should return this to school to receive something special.  Have fun and Happy Thanksgiving!

*****Please do not have your students return any home reading books tomorrow unless they are ones they already had prior to today*****

Updates and Events

Dear Families,
Today was an exciting day as we had a chance to meet our learning buddies from Ms. Novotny’s second grade classroom.  We read our “just right” books to the second graders and they read a story book to us.  Our plan is to meet at least twice a month to connect and learn.  Today we went up to their classroom and next time they will come visit us.  Please enjoy the pictures I have posted below the updates and events.
