Four Winds

Hello!
If you are interested in volunteering for Four Winds this year, please let me know! J
Four Winds is a great way for parent/guardian volunteers to spend time in the classroom after a 1 hour monthly training on Vermont science and nature topics. The training is recorded so you don’t have to attend in person. With other volunteers in your classroom, you work with the teacher to schedule 45 min to 1 hour once a month to teach the topic. It’s super fun and easy and there are volunteers available to work with you to get you up and running.
Below is information on Four Winds for you to take a look and help you decide. Please let me know if you have any questions and if you are interested in joining – it has worked well to have between 2 and 4 volunteers for each class.

Our first training is scheduled for Thursday, September 12 from 8:15-9:45 am at Maple Street Park, main building. If you are unable to regularly make it to the trainings, we plan to have a video available in the week following each training.
The Four Winds Nature Institute materials on Structure and Function, our topic for the year, can
be found at: https://nearbynature.fwni.org/category/structure-and-function/. This year’s password for the extra materials is “straightforward.” If you need a hard copy of the background information, activities, or puppet show, Four Winds suggests downloading and then printing the “Structure and Function Booklet” from the Resources page. This will maintain the easy-to-read page format and saves a good deal of paper. These books will be available for $10 at the first training - please let me know if you would like to purchase one.
Thank you and let me know if you have any questions! Here’s to a fun year with the Four Winds Nature Program!
